About this Building
The 1,428-foot-tall 111 West 57th Street is the second-tallest residential building in the world and also one of the most slender.
Because of its skinny footprint, each of the 46 units in the tower takes up a full floor overlooking Central Park, including five duplex penthouses.
There are 14 additional units located in the landmarked Steinway Hall, a 16-story Beaux-Arts former piano showroom that was incorporated into the base of the project.
111 West 57th Street was developed by JDS Development Group, Property Markets Group, and Spruce Capital Partners, with an average asking price per square foot of $5,511, one of the highest among Manhattan new developments when it launched sales in late 2018.
A contract for a $57M penthouse in December 2020 signaled a safe investment, as it was one of the biggest sales during the pandemic.
The building was designed by SHoP Architects with a unique terra cotta and bronze facade.
AD100 firm Studio Sofield handled the amenities, which include a private porte-cochère, an outdoor terrace, and an 82-foot lap pool.
